Our Mission:
To create a network among organizations who support CAF veterans, Emergency Responders and their families in meeting the array of challenges, such as: transition, mental health, and housing instability, by promoting collaboration that improves the delivery of services.
Who is Invited to Attend:
We hope to see all Military Units, Police Services, EMS, Fire and Rescue, Medical and support First Responders, Peer Support groups, Spiritual support providers, local and municipal leaders, CMHA, Veterans Support agencies, EAP providers, VAC, Legion Branch Service Officers, psychologists, social workers, and anyone else interested and supporting those who suffer from PTSD and Operational Stress injuries.

Debbie Greene
Debbie Greene is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Legion Veterans Village Research Foundation (LVVRF). A CPA, published medical researcher, and long‑standing advocate for Veteran care, Debbie’s leadership is shaped by her lived experience supporting her husband, Captain (Ret’d) Trevor Greene, who sustained a catastrophic traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan in 2006. His recovery, documented in the national bestselling memoir March Forth, which Debbie co‑authored, led her to engage deeply in neuroplasticity research and contribute to peer‑reviewed work advancing brain injury rehabilitation.
Debbie has translated her personal experience into systemic impact through LVVRF. Under her leadership, the Foundation completed its inaugural clinical program in 2025: a multidisciplinary Brain Fog Program supporting 89 Veterans and 11 family members living with cognitive impairment related to Long COVID and operational stress injuries. LVVRF is now advancing Canada’s first feasibility study of accelerated transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for Veterans with concurrent PTSD and chronic pain, with follow‑up assessments underway and a scientific manuscript expected by year‑end. Central to LVVRF’s mission is ensuring that research does not remain confined to academic publication but is translated into practical tools, protocols, and programs that clinicians can use directly in care settings to improve outcomes for Veterans and their families.
As Chair, Debbie has intentionally built a Board that reflects the communities LVVRF serves, bringing together the lived expertise of Veterans, police officers, firefighters, and most recently, a dedicated voice for paramedics. This diverse representation ensures frontline perspectives actively shape the Foundation’s priorities, research direction, and commitment to those who serve.
